Blocks are the building blocks in Minetest. They have 16x16 textures and are seen by the player as one cubic meter. Blocks are also called Nodes in Minetest, which is relevant to Modding. This page lists the available blocks in Minetest Game.
Naturally generated blocks
These blocks occurred naturally in the generated maps.

Background color key
The background color denotes the availability of the blocks. It tells you in which map generators these blocks may be generated.
- White: Generated in v5, v6, v7, valleys, flat, fractal
- Gray: Generated in v5, v7, valleys, flat, fractal
- Light blue: Only generated in valleys
These things are made out of multible blocks and can only exist as a whole:

These blocks are not found naturally. They have to be harvested or grown by the player.

These blocks also exist in the Minetest Game, but these don’t appear in usual gameplay or in Creative Mode. These blocks can only be obtained by unconventional means, for example, with the server command “

Internally used blocks
Internally used blocks are blocks in Minetest which are used for technical reasons only. They don't have a gameplay value and the player can't interact with them directly.
