A Brown Mushroom is an edible fungi found in forests.

In most map generators it can be found in decidous forests, coniferous forests and rainforests (→Biomes). It occours on dirt with grass and also rarely appear on fallen Tree, Aspen Tree and Jungle Tree logs. In rainforests, it only occours on fallen jungle trees, never on the floor. In the v6 mapgen, brown mushrooms only occour next to a Tree on dirt with grass.

Brown mushrooms will spread slowly over time on Dirt, Dirt with Grass, etc. and on “trunk” blocks (Tree, Jungle Tree, etc.) in darkness but they will eventually die off in direct sunlight.

They can be collected with bare hands. Brown mushrooms can be eaten to restore . To eat one, one needs to hold it in their hand then left click. They can be placed with right click, just like almost any other node.
