Gravel is an unstable block which falls if there is air or any other passable node below it. It can be used to craft gun powder. It can be mined by a shovel; the hand also works, but slower. There is a small chance that mining gravel yields a flint instead of gravel.

Generation

In all map generators, gravel is found in medium-sized to large blob-shapes inside stone. In all map generators except v6, gravel appears abundantly especially under the water of cold biomes. In v6, larger areas of gravel, called “gravel biomes” appear very rarely. Thus, gravel is much less common in v6 than in all other map generators.
