The Permanent Flame turns nearby flammable blocks into a Fire. Air which is both nearby a permanent flame and a flammable block will randomly turn into basic flames. See Category:Flammable for a list of flammable blocks. Notably, Chests and locked chests will not burn. A Permanent Flame is created on top of a Coal Block when a player punches it with a Flint and Steel.
