Soil is created when a hoe is used on Dirt, Dirt with Grass, Dirt with Savanna Grass, Dirt with Rainforest Litter or Dirt with Coniferous Litter.
Wheat Seed and Cotton Seed can be placed on it but the plants will only grow on Wet Soil.
Soil eventually becomes Wet Soil when Water (any type of water) is within two block lengths of it.
Soil will turn back to Dirt eventually if it is not made wet for a longer time.
