Soil is created when a hoe is used on Dirt or Dirt with Grass. Wheat Seed and Cotton Seed can be planted on it but the seed won’t grow on soil. The soil must be made wet first.
Soil eventually becomes Wet Soil when Water is not further away than two block lengths.
Soil will become Dirt eventually if nothing is planted on it and it is not made wet for a longer time.
