A bones block appears when a player dies. It has its own inventory and the entire player inventory of the dieing player is transferred to the bones block. Bone blocks behave similarly to chests: using the block allows the player to access its contents. It cannot be used to store anything. It can only be mined if it is empty.

In multiplayer mode, during the first 20 minutes, only the owning player can access the bone block content. After this delay, bones are shared and any player may take them.
