Grass blocks are found naturally above ground. Grass will grow on dirt if it is exposed to sunlight or bright light after some time. When mined, the player receives an ordinary dirt.

Trees, flowers, grass and jungle grass grow on it. Grass blocks can be cultivated using a hoe.

A grass block cannot be obtained by the player legitimately, only by using the /giveme command.
