Trees appear naturally in the world and from certain kinds of saplings. Unlike other plants, saplings grow, at some point in time, instantly into a full-size tree.
There are several kinds of trees.
Regular trees
Those trees grow randomly in the world and from saplings. Their trunk usually consist of 4 or 5 tree blocks and many leaves.
Apple trees
Apple trees grow randomly in the world and also grow from regular saplings (but with a much lower chance than regular trees). They are basicly the same as regular trees, but they also carry some apples as well.
Jungle trees
Jungle trees grow from jungle saplings are only found naturally in jungles. They grow much higher than regular trees. The trunk consists of jungle tree blocks amd jungle leaves and can sometimes be as high as 12 node lengths in height. On a flat floor, up to additional 8 jungle tree blocks can appear around the trunk. This makes jungle trees excellent for farming.
Pine trees
Pine trees grow from pine saplings. There are snow biomes, where snow pines grow. They can grow up to 13 nodes high. They are made of pine tree blocks and pine needles.
Acacia trees
Acacia trees grow in savannah biomes and grow from acacia saplings. They are made of acacia tree blocks and acacia leaves.
Aspen trees
Aspen trees grow in deciduous forests and grow from aspen saplings. They are made of aspen tree blocks and aspen leaves.
