River Water is a non-renewable liquid block that can only placed by player by using a bucket (or in creative mode).

River Water is similar to Water, the differences are color, river water is not renewable and it has a flowing range of only up to 2 blocks, as opposed to 8 blocks.

It occours in the form of rivers in the “valleys” map generator. This block is not generated in any other map generator. Most of these rivers have a riverbed made of sand, but in tundra biomes the riverbed is made of gravel.
